If you have been one of those friends who has followed me since I started this, you know that I started this website for a few reasons. I will start out with a thank you for following this journey of mine.
This adventure started back in 2022. The journey has been fun but very challenging. I am not really a computer guru, and after setting up my site, I had a catastrophic server failure and started all over again, with the help of some friends.
This project initially started out as a way to keep busy during my husband’s deployment, while incorporating my love to cook and my love to write, both which I find therapeutic. I don’t know then or even today what exactly it is I want from this website, but I keep plugging away at it. As my form of therapy I guess.
Being consistent at this has been the main challenge for me. I still work full time, but know that retirement is on the other side of the horizon so I just keep plugging away at it. I think I thought it would be easier, but have come to realize that to have followers, you need more than a website, you need other forms of media like FB and Instagram.
I gave up FB at the beginning of the pandemic. I found it negative, dark and not good for my mental health. So I stopped using it. But with my lonely 46 website followers (that sounds so pathetic, but I don’t care) I realized I needed to figure out how to expand my exposure. So now I have an Instagram account which is linked to a new FB account and I just keep trying.
I have a few more followers on IG and I laugh every time I post some random reel of photos and get 300 random views. Like when I posted the Tupperware patty maker. Like of all the things to get views, that was the thing? Not a picture of my fresh bread or one of the recipes I posted on my website? But that’s okay. I will keep at it and see where it all lands.
It’s been a minute since I worked on the bones of my website.. But I managed today to post a new page where there are links to all my recipes in an index. That way you don’t have to go looking for a post from 3 years ago and try to remember what post it was from to find the recipe. After having my kid text me repeatedly looking for the recipe she knew was on there, I decided I needed to make the change. Is the page perfect, no, but that’s ok and I will keep working on it.

I thank you all for following me. You are a small mighty group that keep me going with this. I will never be rich from it, but that was never my intention. I wanted a way to decompress (speaking of decompressing: check out this talented potter I happen to know at decompress.ceramics on Instagram or decompressceramics.com) and to connect with people.
And yes, the margarita pic is homage to my love of tequila!
