It’s here, again: New Years Eve is upon us.
2025 flew by in the blink of an eye. And tomorrow we transition into bigger and better with 2026. For me and my family, it will bring much change which we welcome with open arms: another grandchild, and retirement.
Tonight we will count down the night and watch the fireworks erupt or watch the ball drop from Times Square. Perhaps we will ring a temple bell 108 times to let go of past troubles. Or maybe we will eat 12 grapes at midnight for good luck. Regardless of what you do, New Years is the time that represents renewal, hope, change, reflection and moving forward. You know, those resolutions or “resolves” as I referred to them last year.
For those of you who don’t remember, I have two traditions I live by:
- Sleep with money in your sock so to bring prosperity in the new year.
- No laundry on New Years Day so not to wash the new luck away.
From my house to yours, Happy New Year. Stretna Nova Godina. Bonne Année. ¡Feliz Año Nuevo. Gott Nytt År. Hauʻoli Makahiki Hou. Manigong Bagong Taon.
However you say it or celebrate it, I wish you a year full of love, luck and laughter, along with good health. With that, it has to be a good year!
